Reflecting on the 2024 Election: A Missed Opportunity for Leadership?

As you may have heard, our new president-elect is Donald Trump, and many are feeling angry or frustrated about him taking office as the 47th president. Like it or not, the next four years will be interesting to watch as we see how America responds.

One thing I want to point out, though, is what happened after the election results came in. While it’s understandable that our Vice President may have felt emotional, this was a critical moment for her to address the millions who supported and voted for her. Instead, she said nothing and simply left without a word to those who believed in her. For many, this feels like a letdown and raises questions about leadership, resilience, and how we’re perceived on the world stage.

When Hillary Clinton faced a similar moment, she stood before her supporters, acknowledged their efforts, and showed appreciation—even when emotions ran high. Clinton paved the way, showing that women in politics could be strong, logical, and capable under pressure. But unfortunately, this recent election may have set a different tone. For many, it might reinforce old stereotypes about women and emotions, making it harder for future female candidates.

I know some of you may not agree, and that’s okay. This is just my opinion, and everyone’s entitled to their own. I understand if you’re frustrated or even angry, but sometimes stepping back and reflecting on these moments can help us see things more clearly.

Just some food for thought. Thanks for reading.
